Another Quick and Easy Card

So I’ve had very little time for crafting lately…between getting the taxes done, work and trying to get the garden in since the sun has finally appeared.  I am sharing a card that came together very fast and requires no stamping and it uses up some of my big stash of embellishments.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #90

Boy did this Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #90 have me stumped for a bit.  I just couldn’t figure out how to lay it out.  I decided to go clean and simple and since I love Back In The Saddle, it was what I decided to use with it.

I flipped the sketch over and put the triangle shaped focal point on the lower left corner.  I love how the sentiments work together to make a nice train of thought.  It works well for a masculine birthday card.  I am happy with it but am glad you don’t have to see the attempts it took to get everything lined up the way I wanted it to be.  The card details are below.

Howdy Partner – Take 2

I am still loving this stamp set even though I have another 5 Waltzingmouse stamp sets that I’ve been playing with.  Since I was playing with this set for the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #90 I decided to make up this one too.   It’s a very simple card with using the sentiment stamps and accentuating the Howdy Partner sentiment by making it black.  The card details are below.

March Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

This month’s Papertrey Blog Hop has a photo for inspiration.  It’s all yellows and aqua.  Usually I love this type of blog hop but I wasn’t feeling it on this one.  I was going to go with a birthday card but just couldn’t get the mojo going.  So I opted for ribbon and I have plenty of that.  So my card is yellow and aqua ribbon.  I used up my stash of ribbon rather than my good stuff just cause I have lots of the other stuff to use up.  Also I wasn’t thinking this was going to turn into one of my favorite cards and had a tough time using up my best ribbon, read Papertrey ribbon.  So forgive my lapse of not using PTI ribbon on a PTI blog hop…but I promise that means I’ll have lots more PTI ribbon to use on my best cards.

We had snow yesterday morning…Christmas must be around the corner

I think the poles must have switched last night since I woke up yesterday morning to a yard full of snow.  It’s supposed to be spring.  It’s supposed to be Portland Oregon, where we don’t often get much snow even in the middle of winter.  So what’s a girl to do…get in the Christmas spirit and make some Christmas cards.  Well, that’s excuse and I’m sticking to it.

I had my brilliant blue cardstock still out from my card the other day so I decided to do another blue card.  I stuck with the same stamp sets too but a very different look.  Thank goodness I don’t have to choose which one I like best since they are very different.  I’ll leave it up to you….  The card details are below.

Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge #89 – Take 2

I must really be liking the sketch for  Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge since I am getting 2 cards done for the challenge when I typically have trouble getting one done.  Here’s the sketch…

Anyway…back to the card.  So I used another one of my new Waltzingmouse stamp sets, Dainty Doilies 2.  Love this set too!  I was in the mood to use up some of my brilliant blue cardstock and make some snowflakes.  I had fun embellishing the doily with smooch and rhinestones.  I distressed the edges of the layer card to make the snowflake pop.  The card details are below.
