Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Pinterest Challenge

This week’s Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge is to base a card on inspiration from their Pinterest board.  I went with the bird photo in the bottom left corner.  I have a pretty bird stamp that I got because my dad loves birds.  I water colored the birds and added a Father’s Day sentiment to it since this a card he would appreciate the most.  Nice to be early for an occasion rather than making the card the day before.  I am also including this on Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge – Lions to Lambs.  Have a great weekend!  Happy crafting!   Supplies are listed below.

Paper Crafts Holiday Cards & More Issue

I’m excited to share a card that I had published in Paper Crafts recently released Holiday Cards & More magazine.  Love this special issue of Paper Craft magazine!  Lots of inspiration just in time to get you in the holiday crafting mood.

I’m so excited about this card.  I won’t lie….it took a long time to make.  It has several steps since it includes stamping with paint, watercoloring, and coloring with Copics.  But it was worth it in the end.  Besides, what would I do with my time if I wasn’t crafting?  Cleaning?  Not if I can help it.  Hope you are having a wonderful day!  Happy crafting!

I love making Christmas cards!  And Waltzingmouse has such pretty images, including the beautiful poinsettia.  I decided I wanted a soft white and golden style of card so I embossed the poinsettia and sentiment in gold embossing powder.  I love how this turned out!  But I will admit that coloring the poinsettia with white colored pencil was a pain but it was worth it in the end for how it turned out.  Supplies are listed below.

Supplies:

  • Cardstock: Fine Linen (Papertrey)
  • Stamps:  Big Bloom Poinsettia (Waltzingmouse); Say It Loud – Winter Holidays (Waltzingmouse)
  • Ink:  Versamark
  • Accessories: gold embossing powder (Superior, Ranger); white colored pencil (Prismacolor); Pearls (Recollections); copics

I was stumped on this one.  The idea of creating an ornament using Waltzingmouse stamps stumped me… but came up with an idea early this morning.  I don’t typically make any ornaments but after doing this one I might be inspired to do this again.  This one was fun. I liked how it turned out and I used up some of my paper scraps for the glitter paper.  The Waltzingmouse contribution was a small but important one….the poinsettia in the center of the stamp.  Supplies are listed below.
