Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge – Young at Heart and Curtain Call: XOXO

I knew exactly what I wanted to make for this week’s Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge – Young at Heart and Curtain Call Challenge: XOXO.  I bought this die thinking that I would use it to make my boys Valentine’s cards.  My boys are 8 and 9 and they LOVE Minecraft (computer and video game).  The shape of the die makes the perfect pixelated heart. And if you’ve never seen Minecraft….it has old style block style of graphics.  Neat and Tangled pixelated heart die is perfect for this!  And the coolest thing is that it makes a die cut that allows you to create a heart that pops up from the inside of the card.  Can you tell I’m excited about this card.  I need to make another one so each boy has a card but I wanted to post this one.  The color choices of green and pink are a bit strange but I picked up the pink from the inspiration photo and needed green to match the Minecraft background.  The Minecraft terrain has this kind of blocky green background that I tried to imitate.   The card supplies are listed below.  Happy blog hopping!

Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge – The Color of Love, Card 4

Here’s my third card using Papertrey’s hearts cover plate die for this week’s Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge, The Color of Love.  For this one, I wanted to give the cover plate die cut more texture by putting folded hearts inside.  Not sure how well I like how it turned out and it was a pain to fold and glue the vellum hearts.  I don’t think I would do it again but it adds an interesting look to the card.  Supplies are listed below.  Happy crafting!

Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge – The Color of Love, Card 3

Here’s my second card using Papertrey’s hearts cover plate die for this week’s Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge, The Color of Love.  For this one, I embossed the coverplate into the cardstock and then used watercolors to color it.  I thought the pattern would get lost if I used the dylusions spray that I used on the first card.  Supplies are listed below.  Happy crafting!

Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge – The Color of Love, Card 2

I recently purchased Papertrey’s hearts cover plate die and thought it would work well with this week’s Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge, The Color of Love.  I ended up making up 3 cards with the cover plate.  For my first one, I used Dylusions sprays to make a very color background for the cover plate die cut.  I added a few sequins and a simple love you sentiment.  The worst part was waiting for the colored background sheet to dry.  Supplies are listed below.  Happy crafting!

Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge, Card 1

Do you ever think your making a card with one them and then it just doesn’t go the way you think it’s going to?  I pulled out some heart dies to play with this week’s Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge – The Color of Love and ended up with a Miss You card rather than a Valentine card.  The sentiment font seemed to work better with the images than the Valentine sentiment I was planning on.  I like how it turned out, just interesting how sometimes card elements or placement can dictate how the card turns out.  Hope you’re getting some crafting time in this weekend!  Supplies are listed below.

Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge – Pets Corner, Card 3

Here’s my last card for Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge – Pets Corner.  I saved my favorite for last….love how this card turned out.  I know we are heading into Valentine’s Day and I’m making a card for Halloween but this stamp has one of my favorite cat images of all time.  It’s one of my first stamp sets and is an old Stampin’ Up stamp set.  I kept the card simple so the image could really shine.  I finished off the inside of the card using stamps from the same set.  Hope you are enjoying everyone’s cards for this challenge!  Supplies are listed below.
