Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge and Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge combined

I made two cards that combine the themes for Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday Challenge – Christmas Critters with Simon Says Stamp’s Monday Challenge – Ice Cold. The first one came together quickly since I was using die cuts and patterned papers to create the card. The glittered hillside die cuts add lots of icy sparkle. The second card used the same type of icy hillsides but with a Yeti for the Christmas Critter. Hope you get some time to craft during the holiday season! Supplies for the cards are listed in the captions.

The background is sheet from Papertrey’s Holiday Folk Paper Pack and the tree and bear were fussy cut from sheets of the same paper pack. The sparkly hillside die cuts were created using Papertrey’s In the Meadow Collection dies on adhesive sheets that are coated with a layer of coarse glitter. The Merry Christmas sentiment was created with Papertrey’s Christmas Cheer stamp and die set.
I love this happy Yeti image! Those teeth and that face just make me smile and we all need more reasons to smile! The Yeti image and sentiment are from My Favorite Things Beast Friends stamp set. The Yeti is colored using Copic markers. The trees are from a Craft Smart rubber stamp from Michaels. The glittered hillside adhesive sheets were created using Papertrey’s In the Meadow Collection dies.

Simon Says Monday Challenge – Traditional Christmas and Wednesday Challenge – Let’s Sparkle and Ink to Paper – Intricate Cards

I decided to combine some challenges including Simon Says Monday Challenge – Let’s Sparkle and Wednesday Challenge – Traditional Christmas. My third card is also submitted for Ink To Paper’s The Joy of Card Making Intricate Cards Challenge.

I started by pulling out my stash of glitter paste and went to town making card fronts. Not all of them made it into a card for these challenges, but I like to get all the messy and time-consuming part of it done at one time. Glitter paste is a fun way to create a pretty sparkly background, especially for Christmas cards!

My first card is very simple, using a striped stencil to create lines across the card. I wanted a very clean looking ornament to match the simple style of the card. I also heat embossed the ornament strings in silver so it would match the heat embossed sentiment.
My second card uses a single line of pretty, glittery trees that is anchored with a sentiment border. Love the light green glitter paste against the green cardstock and the pop of red!
My third card is my favorite! Love the subtle greens in the card, the repeating tree background, the fun, and glittery deer die cut.

For my next two sparkly cards, I decided to use glitter die cuts. I have that cute deer die cut shown in my third card also in red so that was the inspiration for the last two cards. Love how the red glitter really pops when placed a pretty monochromatic background. I made the fourth card a bit more intricate so I could submit it for Ink to Paper’s Joy of Card Making Intricate Cards challenge.

My fourth card uses several layers and textures to create visual interest. Love how it turned out! The deer die cut is the same as the above card, only in red.
My fifth card uses the same tree die but keeps it simple with only adding the sentiment and birds.

Papertrey Make It Monday – 2018 A La Carte Challenge

How about squeezing 2 more cards into 2018?  I am almost out of time before we hit midnight here on the west coast.  So I selected Papertrey’s Make It Monday #316 – Stenciled Edges for Papertrey’s A La Carte challenge.  I wanted to replenish my Christmas stash of cards so decided to make some Christmas themed cards.  I stenciled the corners with stencil paste rather than ink.  Hope 2018 was good to you and that your 2019 starts off well.  Card supplies are listed below.

Papertrey’s SAF Pottery Challenge with Cards

This Papertrey SAF challenge was to use stamped pottery on a card.  I love how this turned out.  I made several stamped pottery images but this one was my favorite.  I love how the gold embossed image on the card works so well with the gold stamped tree on the pottery.  I kept it pretty simple so that the pottery accent would really stand out.  Supplies are listed below.  Happy crafting!

Papertrey SAF Pottery Challenge

I loved this challenge but somehow my gift tags never look as good as Nicole’s do.  I’m not sure if they are good enough to put on a package.  Oh well, it’s good to try something new.  Supplies are listed below.  Happy crafting!
