Simon Says Monday Challenge – Traditional Christmas and Wednesday Challenge – Let’s Sparkle and Ink to Paper – Intricate Cards

I decided to combine some challenges including Simon Says Monday Challenge – Let’s Sparkle and Wednesday Challenge – Traditional Christmas. My third card is also submitted for Ink To Paper’s The Joy of Card Making Intricate Cards Challenge.

I started by pulling out my stash of glitter paste and went to town making card fronts. Not all of them made it into a card for these challenges, but I like to get all the messy and time-consuming part of it done at one time. Glitter paste is a fun way to create a pretty sparkly background, especially for Christmas cards!

My first card is very simple, using a striped stencil to create lines across the card. I wanted a very clean looking ornament to match the simple style of the card. I also heat embossed the ornament strings in silver so it would match the heat embossed sentiment.
My second card uses a single line of pretty, glittery trees that is anchored with a sentiment border. Love the light green glitter paste against the green cardstock and the pop of red!
My third card is my favorite! Love the subtle greens in the card, the repeating tree background, the fun, and glittery deer die cut.

For my next two sparkly cards, I decided to use glitter die cuts. I have that cute deer die cut shown in my third card also in red so that was the inspiration for the last two cards. Love how the red glitter really pops when placed a pretty monochromatic background. I made the fourth card a bit more intricate so I could submit it for Ink to Paper’s Joy of Card Making Intricate Cards challenge.

My fourth card uses several layers and textures to create visual interest. Love how it turned out! The deer die cut is the same as the above card, only in red.
My fifth card uses the same tree die but keeps it simple with only adding the sentiment and birds.

Simon Says Stamptember, Monday Stamp It, and Wednesday Bling It On Challenges

I’ve made several cards for Simon Says Stamptember Memory Box challenge, Monday Challenge – Stamp It, and Wednesday Challenge – Bling It On.  I’ve used this stamp several times and have found it to be very versatile.  Previously I’ve used it for monochromatic cards but I wanted to color the pretty floral images with my zig markers.  It’s hard to see in the photos but I covered the floral images with a layer of wink of Stella for some added bling.

I’m loving all of the collaboration stamp sets that we’ve seen so far for Stamptember.  Happy crafting!  The card supplies are listed below.

Card Supplies:

  • Cardstock:  Stamper’s Select White (Papertrey); Vintage Cream (Papertrey); New Leaf (Papertrey); Winter Wisteria (Papertrey)
  • Ink: Versamark (Tsukineko)

Simon Says Let’s Get Sentimental – Card 2

Simon Says Stamp’s Wednesday challenge is to create a card that focuses on the sentiment.  So had some time today in my craft room and made several for the challenge.  Here’s my second card and it definitely focuses on the sentiment from Tim Holtz.  Love this sentiment….just need to remember it more often. Hope you’re having a wonderful Mother’s Day yourself or enjoying it with your mom.  Happy crafting.

Papertrey Ink’s Blue Sky Challenge

Papertrey Ink’s 8th Anniversary has been going on for the last week and this is the last card I am submitting for it.  This card is for PTI’s Blue Sky Challenge.  The challenge is to create a blue ombre background.  I made an ombre background using tim holtz distress inks and resist cardstock.  I made two cards with 2 different resist patterns.  The first one is for my son’s birthday.  I made one earlier this week but I think this one is more his style.  The second one was another struggle but I hate dumping a card so I finished it.  Hope you are having a great weekend!  Supplies are listed below.

Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge Card 5

Okay….I think I’m about snowflaked out.  But it was so fun to play with the stamps, dies, and punches for the Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge.  This one goes back to my favorite card making technique…stamping.  I used my background stamp along with Papertrey’s fillable frames set.  Card supplies are listed at the bottom.  Hope you’re have a wonderful day!

Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge Card 4

I made some more cards for the Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge.  These two cards use some more of my snowflake punches in addition to the large Martha Stewart punch.  I used some of my smaller snowflakes to give the feeling of falling snowflakes.  Cheers.

Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge Card 3

I’m on a roll with making cards for Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge.  Snowflake card with stamps – check, snowflake card with dies – check, how about a snowflake card with punches.  I should be barred from buying snowflake stuff but I think it must be an addition.  So it’s about time I used some of those snowflake punches.  Here is one of them using my big snowflake punch. I used the snowflake image to ink the inked inside the card as shown in the 2nd photo.    Cheers!

Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge Card 2

I am in the snowflake zone so here is another snowflake card for the Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge.  This card is totally different from the last soft pink one.  I decided to focus on my snowflake dies for this one and made it more of a graphic card.  My snowflake panel is a Martha Stewart color swatch from Home Depot.  I love the texture of the color swatches….a fun change from cardstock. Supplies for the card are listed below.  Hope you are having a fabulous day!

Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge Card

I love snowflakes!  I mean I really love them and have a multitude of them in stamp and die form.  So Simon Says Ice Inspiration Challenge got me to step away from the house chores and whip up a card.  I’ll likely create some more snowflake cards before the challenge is up so keep a look out.  Okay to the card….
