Several more cards for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Animal Antics

I was on a roll with making some more cards for this week’s Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge – Animal Antics. I ended up with two cards with birds and two cards with butterflies. They are all pretty different, just went with where the images drew me. First ones up, a watercolored card using Tim Holtz’s great bird crazy images.

I stamped two birds from Tim Holtz’s Bird Crazy set and stamped a second image on scrap paper. I colored the birds and the background using distress inks. I then fussy cut the eyes, beaks, and wings and attached them with foam tape. I attached the card front to a prepared card base. Lastly, I stamped the Wishing stamp on a yellow banner and used foam tape to attach it to the card front. Cardstock: Coastal Cabana (Stampin Up), Harvest Gold (Papertrey)
I stamped the flower and the hummingbird from Stampendous’ Hummingbirds stamp set on watercolor cardstock panels and colored the images distress ink. I fussy cut the hummingbird and attached him to the flower panel with foam tape. I stamped the Beauty Shines stamp by Stampers Anonymous on a spare piece of cardstock and fussy cut the sentiment strips. I attached the strips to the card. I then attached the finished card front to a prepared card base.
I stamped My Favorite Things’s Distressed Patterns repeatedly on a piece of watercolor cardstock and sprayed it with Bubble Gum Pink spray and let it run down the card. I then cut out muliple butterflies from tracing paper using dies from Papertrey’s Life is Beautiful set. Once the watercolor panel was dry, I stamped the sentiment from Papertrey’s Life is Beautiful set. I then attached the butterfly die cuts and sequins to the card front and attached it to the card base. Lastly, I used Stardust Stickles to make the butterfly bodies.
Stamped the butterfly stamp from Papertrey’s Ever So Much set onto watercolor cardstock and embossed it with white embossing powder. Watercolored the background and butterfly with distress inks. Die cut the you from Papertrey’s Scripted dies and stamped the rest of the sentiment from Papertrey’s Scripted stamp set. Attached finished panel to Royal Velvet cardstock base.

Papertrey’s 11th Anniversary Day 8 Color Challenge

Today’s challenge for Papertrey’s 11th Anniversary is to use one of the color swatches to make a project.  If you looked at my last 2 cards, you could probably guessed which color swatch I picked.  I picked the one with aqua mist, tropical teal, green parakeet, winter wisteria and royal velvet.  I decided to do a bit of watercoloring using my Papertrey inks.  I ended up thinking the colors were too vibrant so created a front panel from vellum to soften the look.  Hope your week is starting off well!  Supplies are listed below.
